Since our inception, The Jilan Center has been guided by a visionary Board of Directors dedicated to advancing our mission through the lens of our "4" Cores of Healing Justice: Sexual Wellness, Racial Healing, Recovery, and Community Power-Building. Working closely with the Executive Leadership, the Board shapes the strategic direction of our organization, ensuring our efforts foster transformative change. We are proud to entrust this responsibility to bold, experienced leaders from diverse professional backgrounds, united in their commitment to creating equitable and empowered communities.

Board of Director Position Descriptions:

• 1. Board Chair, Strategic Planning Committee Chair
  The Board Chair provides visionary leadership and ensures effective governance of The Jilan Center’s mission, centering on the "4" Cores of Healing Justice. The Chair leads board meetings, facilitates collaboration among members, and oversees organizational strategy. As Strategic Planning Committee Chair, they guide the development and implementation of long-term goals that amplify sexual wellness, racial healing, recovery, and community power-building.

  2. Board Vice Chair, Governance Committee Chair
  The Board Vice Chair supports the Chair in fulfilling governance responsibilities and assumes leadership in their absence. They ensure the board operates effectively and inclusively, aligning with The Jilan Center’s values. As Governance Committee Chair, they oversee recruitment, orientation, and development of diverse and engaged board members, fostering accountability and a culture of equity.

  3. Board Treasurer, Finance Committee Chair
  The Treasurer is the steward of The Jilan Center’s financial health, ensuring transparency and accountability in managing resources. They monitor budgets, financial policies, and funding allocations to sustain programs in sexual wellness, racial healing, recovery, and community power-building. As Finance Committee Chair, they lead financial planning and risk management efforts.

  4. Development Committee Chair
  The Development Committee Chair drives resource development strategies to ensure The Jilan Center’s sustainability and growth. They lead fundraising initiatives, cultivate donor relationships, and identify partnership opportunities that advance the Center’s healing justice work. The Chair champions community engagement and storytelling to amplify the organization’s impact.

  5. Policy Committee Chair
  The Policy Committee Chair advocates for systemic change aligned with The Jilan Center’s "4" Cores of Healing Justice. They lead efforts to develop, analyze, and promote policies that dismantle barriers to sexual wellness, racial equity, recovery, and community empowerment. The Chair engages stakeholders and ensures advocacy efforts are grounded in community needs and values.
